FundKrypt

Raise funds with trust, powered by Blockchain

The problem FundKrypt solves

The Problem

Traditional crowdfunding platforms rely on centralized intermediaries. This creates issues like:

High platform fees & payment delays

Lack of transparency in how funds are managed

Limited control for campaign creators once the campaign is live

Risk of fraud or misuse of donations

The Solution: FundKrypt

FundKrypt is a Web3-powered crowdfunding dApp that solves these issues by combining blockchain and MongoDB:

Decentralized & Transparent: Every campaign is stored on the blockchain, ensuring immutability and trust.

Editable Campaigns: Unlike traditional platforms, creators can update their campaigns even after launch.

Personal Dashboard: Users can easily track and manage their campaigns in one place.

Fast Access with MongoDB: Campaign data is mirrored to MongoDB, so retrieval and browsing are smooth like Web2 while still being backed by Web3 security.

No Middlemen: Direct interaction between funders and creators.

What People Can Use It For

Startups & Innovators → Launch fundraising campaigns for new products.

Community Projects → Raise funds for local initiatives (parks, schools, events).

Creators & Artists → Secure support for films, music, or art projects.

NGOs & Social Causes → Collect donations transparently for real impact.

How It Makes Things Easier & Safer

Safer: Blockchain ensures funds and campaign records cannot be tampered with.

Faster: MongoDB integration makes browsing campaigns seamless.

More Control: Creators can edit campaigns post-launch, something most platforms don’t allow.

Trustworthy: Backers can verify campaigns directly on-chain.

Challenges I ran into

While building this project, I ran into many challenges. One of my main goals was to ensure that it remained fully decentralized, while also providing a smooth and efficient user experience. I wanted campaigns to be stored on the blockchain for transparency and trust, but also needed faster data retrieval and lower transaction costs. To achieve this, I integrated MongoDB alongside the blockchain so that campaign data could be quickly accessed without sacrificing decentralization.

Additionally, I used IPFS (via Pinata) to handle campaign images, ensuring that every image is permanently linked to its campaign through a unique image URI. This prevents issues like broken links or missing media, which are common in traditional systems.

Together, these design choices allow the platform to be both secure and transparent like Web3, and fast and user-friendly like Web2. The result is a crowdfunding dApp that gives users confidence that their data and funds are safe, while still being easy and efficient to use.
