Decentralized Social Platform For Students

The problem Frosh solves

The era of the Internet has brought many different platforms for particular groups or platforms for combined population, we call the social media. For example, Github is for only those who know programming or computer knowledge, can be termed as a platform for a particular group of people. If we talk about platforms for the combined population, we think of Facebook and Instagram. But in between these two, we have left a huge group of students, students from various backgrounds. Students need a platform where they can connect, create, collaborate and share with students across the globe. A student from rural India can connect with a student from MIT and they both can work, learn, share, and even collaborate, such a platform is the need of the hour. To solve this problem and provide the benefits mentioned and even the unexplored ones, Frosh comes into action with the power Web3. The decentralized nature of Frosh will make it even better as this will eliminate the central authority factor that restricts students based on geography. Frosh is a social media as well as a learning and creating platform for students. It is like Github for students from different backgrounds. Since this version of Frosh is just a prototype, we can't explore all the features and functionalities. But in the upcoming versions, we can see features that are not even expected.

Challenges I ran into

Coming from a non-programming background it was hard for me to even think I can create a platform like this, but during this hackathon, I was able to create the prototype with lots of fun and learning. I used Ethereum-Boilerplate provided by the Moralis, as a base for this project. So there are lots of files in this repo so I worked very carefully so that I don't mess up. I worked on each and every file line by line but I got a lot of errors when tried to run the app, then I used to visit documentation and info videos to get some idea on a particular code works. Front-end development was the most difficult part for me, however I tried my best.

Cheer Project

Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
