The scope of this project is to make the shopping experience very user friendly and a hassle-free experience. Online stores offer product descriptions, pictures, comparisons and so much more, thus helping users make informed decisions. The addition of a shopping cart lets customers browse and add products to their carts and continue browsing until they make a final selection. This in turn gives the feel of the shopping baskets that we usually see in departmental stores.
On this website, a customer can:
● Create an account
● Change password
● View their profiles
● Browse for various products category-wise
● Instantly see which wholesalers sell which products
● Instantly see prices at which the same product is sold by different wholesalers
● Instantly view product descriptions
● Compare prices for the same product all at once
● Add and remove products from shopping cart
● Place orders
● Give valuable feedback
The colour blue was chosen as the theme for the website keeping in mind that it appeals to a wide range of demographics including people of a variety of age groups. Blue is generally used to convey feelings of trust and loyalty whereas dark blue is associated with depth, expertise and stability.
Further on, a payment option can be added with the required security checks to make the website fully functional.
During the course of this project, the challenges we faced were, rendering the image from database dynamically, adding the comparison feature to the web app and the cart manipulation feature were the few challenges faced during the course of the project. We overcame it by researching the required functions over several websites, we watched video tutorials for concept understanding and got the error understanding by referring stack overflow
