Decentralized Freelancing System-Trust and Transparency

The problem FreeLanceChain solves

FreeLanceChain is a blockchain-based decentralized freelancing platform that aims to ensure trust between employer and freelance employee and prevent issues such as late payment, delayed work, and unfair evaluation of work.
1.) A user (employer) can post a consignment on the platform
2.) This consignment is now visible to people who want to apply.
3.) The minimum amount for the job is entered by the employer.
4.) Different users (freelancers) can now bid on the project until the application deadline and the employer can view all the bids and work profiles of applied users in real time on his project application board.
5.) If the employer selects a bid then the consignment is assigned to that freelancer and then when the task is finished, a review of the work is done.
6.) The amount is automatically transferred to the freelancer if there are no issues in the submitted work.
7.) In case of any dispute between freelancers and employers, the parties can raise the issue to dispute management of FreeLanceChain, where field relevant and unknown people (reviewer nodes) verify and resolve the issue in consensus.
The popularity of freelancing among the masses is growing rapidly. However, the centralized freelancing system has many disadvantages like a lack of fairness, higher transaction fees, lack of transparency, and also the possibility of fraud. Because of these limitations, we conclude that a decentralized system is a better alternative, which ensures privacy, fairness, and transparency as well as lower transaction fees. Thus, in our proposed method, FreeLanceChain, we have implemented a fully decentralized freelancing system with all the aforementioned advantages, thus ensuring trust and transparency among the freelancers and employers.

Challenges we ran into

Creating a decentralized platform for freelancers poses several challenges, including:

Technical complexity: Building a decentralized platform requires a strong technical understanding of blockchain, smart contracts, and other decentralized technologies. Creating a decentralized platform for freelancers requires careful consideration of how freelancers will be matched with clients, how payments will be handled, and how disputes will be resolved.

User adoption: The success of a decentralized platform relies on user adoption. Convincing freelancers and clients to move away from traditional platforms and adopt a new decentralized platform can be challenging. This is especially true if the platform is not as user-friendly or does not offer the same level of features as the existing centralized platforms.

Scalability: As more freelancers and clients join the platform, the demand for resources and network bandwidth will increase, which can make it difficult to maintain the performance and stability of the platform. A decentralized platform must be designed to handle scalability challenges, especially as it grows in popularity.

Regulation: Decentralized platforms operate in a regulatory gray area. Regulations related to labor laws, taxes, and data privacy can be complex and vary by jurisdiction. A decentralized platform for freelancers must comply with regulations in the regions where it operates.

Trust and Reputation: On a decentralized platform, trust and reputation mechanisms must be developed to ensure the quality of services provided by freelancers. Without a reliable reputation system, clients may be hesitant to hire freelancers they do not know, and freelancers may not have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and experience to clients.
