Creators on platforms like YouTube and Patreon face high fees, algorithmic limitations, and the risk of losing their accounts and work at any time. Those who avoid these platforms struggle with visibility. Additionally, if a creator's work is copied or reused, they often receive no compensation and have limited recourse. We address these issues with a peer-to-peer exposure and revenue-sharing network.
With the Fractopus protocol, any unique URI/URL can reference other URIs/URLs as sources by allocating a percentage of its future revenue to them. For example, if a URI allocates 10% to another URI as its source, then 10% of its earnings automatically flows to that source URI. The source URIs, in turn, have their own sources, creating a cascading payment stream that reaches back to the origins. In return, sources provide exposure for their branches by displaying them on their pages, increasing visibility. This forms a two-way incentive for connecting content.
