The problem foodcheck.ai solves
Reducing Food Waste Through Smart Tracking and Efficient Distribution.
India is the second-largest food producer globally, yet over 20% of our food is wasted each year. On a personal level, I often buy fruits, forget to eat them, and they end up spoiled—leading to wastage (and my mom’s scolding!). This issue of forgotten or unused food affects countless households, and we’re tackling it by creating a solution that helps people manage food better and connects surplus food with those in need.
- Add food items
Voice Engine: Just speak to add food items (e.g., “strawberry expiring on 12th Jan 2025”), and it’s recorded instantly.
OCR Detection: Upload photos of packaged items, and the expiry date is scanned and saved using OCR.
- Real-Time Fridge Monitoring : Camera in your fridge that tracks food items, quality, and expiry dates. If an item is close to spoiling, you’ll get a real-time notification (e.g., “Banana will expire in 4 days”).
- Smart Recipe Suggestions: Beyond reminders, we offer recipes based on expiring items. For example, if bananas and milk are nearing expiration, our AR-based AI Chef can guide you step-by-step to make a banana milkshake. Users can explore recipe videos, swipe options, and chat with our recipe bot for even more ideas, using technologies like Groq, Gemini, and YouTube integration.
- Optimized Fridge Storage with AR : Shelf Life Optimization in 3D view
- Connecting Surplus Food to Those in Need :
Restaurants and caterers often waste food. Our platform connects them with nearby NGOs needing food through a streamlined delivery platform, similar to Zomato but designed for food donation, including route optimization and tracking.
