The problem Flow Racer solves
Flow Racer is built in Unity using Flow-Unity-SDK.
Problem
Flow Racer is solving 2 critical problems for gamers:
Low availability & low trustability of paid competitive matches
Gamers love competiting against each other and especially when there's a prize pool, but for that they have to wait for official tournaments or local skrims organised by a small team of gamers. Moreover, even after ending with a winning position, the prize payout is delayed.
Game asset security concerns
With game progress data stored on centralized servers, security of hard earned game assests is number one concern. Flow Racer game assests are present on-chain as NFTs so that a user never loses their car asset and also gets an option of trading their car in the free market.
Solution
With Flow Racer, a competitive gamer gets access to
- on-demand paid competitive matches
- transparent & decentralized entry fee collection
- instant & trustworthy prize pool distribution and payout
- game asset security: car nft buying & sellingFl
Challenges we ran into
- Poor error logging on Flow Testnet: Difficulties while debugging the cdc contracts and transactions. Like in one case, if the user Testnet FLOW vault had a particular token it cannot hold any other token with the same name. So while debuging we had to create new accounts each time we wanted to make a change to the token contract since changing the names would've lead to other errors in previously written contracts.
- Integrating Wallect Connect as wallet provider: WalletConnectProvider was not a Scriptable object which caused initial problems with registering a wallet provider.
