What Problem Does Our App Solve?
Many existing apps offer only one or two of these features, forcing users to switch between multiple platforms. Our solution combines everything in one place, making mental health support more accessible and normalized. Whether users want to assess their mental state, find helpful resources, or consult a doctor, they can do it all from our app—without judgment and in complete privacy.
This application is designed to be a safe space for mental wellness, offering tools for self-care, community support, and expert guidance—all in one place.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of our mental health and fitness application, we encountered several challenges that shaped our journey.
1️⃣ Sentiment Analysis for Self-Assessment
Initially, we planned to integrate sentiment analysis into the self-assessment feature, where users’ responses to chatbot questions would be analyzed for emotional tone.
However, given the sensitive nature of mental health and the time constraints of our project, we had to postpone this feature to ensure accuracy and ethical handling of user data.
2️⃣ AI-Powered Journaling & Personalized Chatbot
Our vision included an AI-driven journaling feature, where sentiment analysis would extract emotions from journal entries.
Based on this data, we aimed to create a personalized chatbot that could interact with users empathetically, providing a more comfortable and tailored conversation.
However, implementing this required a highly accurate AI model, and due to the complexity and resource demands, we had to put this feature on hold for future iterations.
3️⃣ Balancing AI Accuracy & User Sensitivity
Since mental health is a highly sensitive topic, ensuring that our AI responses were empathetic, non-triggering, and helpful was a major challenge.
Developing an AI that can understand and respond appropriately to mental health concerns without making incorrect assumptions requires extensive training, which was beyond our current timeline.
4️⃣ Time Constraints & Feature Prioritization
With a limited timeframe, we had to prioritize core functionalities over advanced AI-driven features.
While we successfully implemented blogging, self-assessment, community, and doctor consultations, the sentiment-based chatbot and journaling AI remain future enhancements.
Future Scope
Despite these challenges, we are committed to improving and expanding the application. Future versions will focus on integrating AI for sentiment analysis, enhancing user experience, and providing more personalized mental health support.
