Challenges we ran into
FitCircuit: Challenges Faced
During the development of FitCircuit, we encountered several challenges, particularly with AI integration, prompt handling, and API limitations. Here's a breakdown of the key issues:
AI Integration and Prompt Handling
Data Processing Limits:
- Initially, we faced difficulties with Gemini's free tier, which couldn't handle the volume of data required for our tasks.
- Solution: We implemented Mistral AI for other tasks, reserving Gemini for image recognition, and used GPT for the chatbot, thus achieving multiple LLM support.
Complexity of Multiple LLMs:
- Integrating and managing multiple language models (LLMs) was challenging due to the need for coordinated prompt handling and data processing.
Solution: We developed a system to efficiently distribute tasks among the different LLMs, ensuring smooth operation.
ExerciseDB API Limitations
- Paywall Restriction:
- The ExerciseDB API, crucial for generating workout plans, was restricted by a paywall, making it inaccessible for our initial development phase.
- Solution: We contacted the developer at 3:00 AM, who graciously provided us with a free trial and a demo key, enabling us to integrate workout GIFs and other essential features.
