Sparking conversations on the Baseapp

The problem Fireside solves

Fireside fills a big gap in the on-chain creator economy and the BaseApp ecosystem.

Platforms like Zora and Retake have brought visual and video creators on-chain, but audio creators—especially those from Twitter Spaces—have been left out.

The problems:

Creators are locked out.
Twitter’s closed API means creators can’t earn tips, build on-chain reputations, or be part of the new Web3 economy.

Spaces are unreliable.
Twitter Spaces often crash or lose recordings, and creators don’t own their audience or content.

BaseApp needs engaging content.
People stay on Twitter longer because they can listen to live shows while scrolling. Fireside brings that same dynamic experience on-chain, helping BaseApp keep users engaged longer.

In short: Fireside is the first on-chain audio platform, built on BaseApp and Farcaster, that lets hosts, speakers, and listeners earn together—while also driving deeper engagement and retention across the Base ecosystem.

Challenges I ran into

Building Fireside presented a range of technical and social challenges that tested our adaptability as a team.

  1. Technical Challenges:
Because BaseApp is still in beta, we faced early issues with Android connectivity and platform stability. With support from Chintan and the Base team at Basecamp, we were able to troubleshoot these problems quickly and develop effective workarounds to improve reliability.

  2. Creator Transition:
Many creators are accustomed to large audiences on Twitter Spaces. Moving to a new, on-chain platform can feel like starting over. Helping them see the long-term value of ownership, fairness, and sustainability over vanity metrics has required careful communication and cultural adjustment.

  3. Development Process:
As with any evolving product, fixing one issue occasionally introduced another. It was a constant cycle of testing and refinement. However, close collaboration with skilled developers ensured continuous progress and a more stable final product.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?

Fireside is the first platform where anyone—host, speaker, or listener—can get paid for tuning in.

Sponsors pay $1 per minute to reach targeted audiences via tags like #Base or #DeFi, and 50% of revenue goes back to the room.

It’s the first on-chain audio model where everyone benefits.

Who is your target customer?

Fireside serves three groups:

Projects – connect directly with target audiences through sponsored tags.

Creators – earn from day one via tips and ad revenue sharing.

Listeners – discover live, rewarding conversations for all knowledge levels.
In short: projects, creators, and listeners all share in the value.

Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?

Closest competitors include Twitter Spaces, Clubhouse, and The Arena.
Unlike them, Fireside is built on BaseApp and Farcaster, with on-chain payments, transparent revenue sharing, and a unique $1-per-minute ad model that rewards every participant.

What is your distribution strategy and why?

We’re launching the $FIRE token as our settlement layer, creating ongoing buy pressure and turning users into evangelists.

Early growth will come from personal connections and onboarding Twitter Spaces hosts to Farcaster and BaseApp.

Wider adoption will follow through community collaborations and a token launch on Clanker, which has strong reach across the Farcaster network.
