The problem Finlit solves

One of the major problems of financial literacy is that people lack the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions. Without this knowledge, individuals may not be able to recognize and take advantage of opportunities to save money, invest, and manage their finances effectively. This can lead to an increased risk of debt, financial instability, and an inability to reach their financial goals. Additionally, due to the lack of financial literacy, individuals may not be able to understand complex financial products and services, leading to further financial instability and the potential for exploitation. With Finlit we are reducing the probability of this problem.

Challenges we ran into

Building the website for FinLit was a challenging task due to various factors. The first challenge was setting up the code replit. This required a deep understanding of coding and how to integrate the code with the website. Additionally, the integration of Twilio and Auth0 was a major concern as it required expertise in authentication protocols.
Furthermore, the skill-set of our team members was limited to HTML, CSS, JS and basic React, while the website was set up using Node.js for Twilio. This meant that there was a steep learning curve for our team members to understand the basics of Node.js and apply it to the website.Finally, the website had to be designed in such a way that it was user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. Overall, the challenges faced in building the website for FinLit were numerous. However, with quality teamwork, the task was eventually completed to create a prototype and we got to learn various new things.
