FileStore
Storing files on IPFS backed by Blockchain security.
The problem FileStore solves
Similar to NFTs, it allows people to store their files in a decentralised loication coupled with the security (by immutability) provided by blockchain. In a later version, I'd like to include a payment system so that the service cannot be spammed. Right now, I just put a switch to enable/disable it.
This can be used as a backend service (like AWS S3) where the CIDs are stored in a DB to reference the files.
Since the CIDs of the files are mapped to the owner of the file, it is always ensured that the owner has the unedited version of the file.
Challenges I ran into
Mostly coding the UI since I'm a backend developer. I recently learned Solidity thanks to this hackathon. I wanted to implement the feature to share the files, but I didn't have enough time for it. However, I did implement it in the smart contract.
I couldn't deploy to Polygon because I didn't have a credit card for Infura. Please consider my project. I tried to meet this requirement, but there wasn't enough time because I had to debug the temporary file storage problem. The files don't seem to persist.
