The problem Feeds solves

We love Farcaster but there is always a bit of controversy around the home feed. With the main Farcaster app and the TBA app as the main clients, the client teams have strong input on how content is rated, registered and consumed.

We think this creates a major gap in the content consumption experience -- a gap best filled by a legion of human curators. And that's the gap we've been filling. Thousands of people have used the Feeds miniapp to consume content in a Tumblr-like experience, with feeds hand-curated by humans around their themes of choice. We have >40 curators putting in the hard work of creating content experiences by crawling the timeline and curating specific posts they see.

Our curation process is effortless. Curators need to only tag the procoin account on farcaster, add the keyword 'curate' and finally include the symbol of their personal feed. Check out the video in project links for the beautiful simplicity of it.

And finally, the Feeds miniapp and the Procoin Curation Protocol it's built on, provides a clear path for curators to get paid for their work. Every feed is tradable on a bonding curve with curators earning on every swap. Investors think about feeds as an early entry point to a distribution channel. That is, in fact, what it is. Curators creating content streams as a pathway towards building their distribution and perhaps transforming them into their own miniapps or clients once they have sufficient attention.

So to summarize: we provide an alternative to the algorithmic feed and also provide a nascent monetization model for curators -- something that is sorely lacking in an ecosystem that privileges "creators" over curators, even though they are both essential.

Challenges I ran into

We built a smart contract and in-feed curation system that took a lot of time and effort to fine tune, It's still not perfect, but we have users curating and transacting every day and, of course, many users consuming content in the mini-app every day. No small feat.

The overarching challenge was building a system that has monetization potential without overindexing on financial games and speculative instruments -- essential components, but not dominant in the system,
