The project aims to help people find the most appropriate hospital for their needs in a timely manner. These are a few potential problems that this project is solving:
Difficulty finding the right hospital: Depending on the severity of their condition, a person may need to go to a specific type of hospital (e.g. a trauma center for a serious injury) or one that is located close to their home. Without the right information or resources, it can be difficult for people to find the hospital that is best suited to their needs.
Inefficient use of time: If a person goes to the wrong hospital or spends a long time waiting at the ED or in finding the appropriate hospital, they may be using up valuable time that could be better spent getting the medical care they need.
Long wait times at emergency departments: In some cases, people may need to go to the emergency department (ED) for urgent care. However, EDs can be very busy and have long wait times, which can be stressful and potentially harmful for people who are in need of immediate medical attention.
By providing information on the location and severity of the patient, the project could help people find the right hospital for their needs more quickly and efficiently. This could potentially save critical time for people who are in urgent need of medical care.
The challenges that we encountered while working on a health care project for the hackathon :
Limited access to data: The challenge that we have faced is limited access to data, either because it is protected by privacy laws or because it is difficult to obtain. This can make it difficult to build a accurate and effective health care solution.
Complexity of the health care system: The health care system can be complex and multifaceted, with many different stakeholders involved. This can make it difficult to identify and address the root causes of problems in the system.
Lack of domain expertise: As we are not familiar with the health care industry, we had a slight difficulty in understanding the specific needs and challenges of the sector. This made it a bit challenging for us to develop a solution that is relevant and effective.
Short time frame: The short time frame of hackathon, which is a challenge when trying to develop a complex solution to a health care problem. It was be difficult to research, design, and prototype a solution in a limited amount of time.
Limited resources: Working under the present time resources that we have did make it a little difficult to develop a solution that is both effective as well as practical.
