The problem FarmTrust solves
Offline Mode for Farmers (Poor Connectivity Areas):
To address connectivity issues in rural regions, we implemented a partial offline system that allows farmers to continue using the application even without internet access. Data such as harvest details and QR code generation can be stored locally and automatically synced to the cloud once the connection is restored. This ensures uninterrupted functionality and inclusivity for farmers in remote areas.
Developing a Reliable Trust Score System:
We created an intelligent Trust Score algorithm that aggregates and analyzes multiple data sources — including government agency testing, private laboratory results, and verified community feedback.
The system evaluates factors like journey time, farming practices, and carbon footprint to determine credibility.
A community verification committee further strengthens this process by validating the data inputs.
This approach promotes transparency, accountability, and trust among all stakeholders — farmers, consumers, and regulatory bodies.
Challenges we ran into
1.Offline Accessibility for Farmers:
One of the major challenges was ensuring that the platform remained functional in areas with poor or no internet connectivity. Since many farmers operate in remote regions where network coverage is limited, developing an efficient offline mode became essential. The goal was to allow farmers to access important features and record data even without internet access, and later sync it automatically when connectivity was restored.
2.Creating a reliable trust score system that fairly represents data from various sources like government agency testing, private lab results, and community verifications was complex. Combining these in a transparent and unbiased way was a major challenge.
