FAIR TRADE CONNECT (FTC)

Create a platform fostering local economic growth, connecting medium to small businesses run by marginalized communities ,promoting inclusive development through the Vocal for Local initiative, by enabling direct connections between local artisans and consumers cutting the intermediary costs.

The project revolves around the innovative concept of creating a platform dedicated to fostering local economic growth and giving lesser-known talents a chance to shine. Through the implementation of the Vocal for Local initiative, the platform actively promotes inclusive development. By facilitating direct connections between local artisans and consumers, the project aims to significantly reduce intermediary costs, ensuring that the economic benefits directly reach the hands of those who need it the most. This approach not only empowers marginalized communities but also contributes to the broader goal of building a more sustainable and resilient local economy. Rating based feature promotes local brands, fosters collaboration, and allows consumers to make informed choices based on product quality and the bussiness’s financial success. Highlighting the distinct qualities of each local brand can contribute to a more holistic evaluation for consumers.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble forming a team in the first place and later on due to training, tests, academics and contests we had also had trouble finding time to collaborate and brainstorm ideas. Overall we were able to overcome these difficulties and bring out a viable solution to the problem statement we chose- Decent Work and Economic Growth
