Challenges we ran into
Our hackathon journey with ezPrep AI was a whirlwind of collaboration, innovation, and learning. As a remote team, we faced challenges in coordination and communication but overcame them through efficient work distribution, regular check-ins, and clear goals. Time management was crucial in this online hackathon, and we ensured steady progress through structured planning.
Designing the platform was both exciting and demanding. We focused on creating a user-friendly interface, refining it through multiple iterations. Efficient resource utilization and managing Git workflows were essential in keeping development organized.
Technical challenges were inevitable. Implementing Text-to-Speech (TTS) required a reliable solution across devices, leading us to the Web Speech API with fallback options for consistency. Synchronizing Lottie animations with speech playback was another hurdle, which we solved by developing an animation control system that synced seamlessly with speech events.
Generating natural dialogues from academic content was challenging. We fine-tuned Google Gemini prompts to create engaging, conversational interactions. Ensuring smooth audio playback across devices required error handling and simplification. We also designed an intuitive audio control interface with click-to-play features and visual feedback for speakers.
Tailoring AI to our needs meant constant exploration and refinement. These challenges pushed us to grow as a team, improving problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation. The experience left us with a deep sense of accomplishment and excitement for the future of ezPrep AI.
