Any evidence that is used in a judicial case has certain requirements, which are : Admissibility of the evidence, Authenticity of the Evidence, and finally the chain of custody of the evidence. By storing hashes linked to the evidence, we create immutable data, which ensures the integrity and with that, its authenticity. Secondly, the integrity also gives better admissibility to the evidence. And finally, as with any ledger, all changes on the state of the evidence will be stored, which gives a trackable chain of custody for the evidence.
