Problem statement:
In a world where resources are limited, wastage of resources is a big issue. Let it be clothes, kitchenware, furnitures,
books all use some resources from nature. Thus in result everything is getting depleted day by day. Rather than reusing these
resources we think of buying more which does not solve anyone's problem. One solution could be to rent things out so that
these resources can be reused to it's full capacity. But there is no such platform where such could be accomplished. Not only
that there exists security and trust issues between seller and buyer.
Solution:
We are proposing a solution in a form of RentAll which allows buyer to search for any kind of resource and buy.
On the other hand seller can upload the resource on the portal. The seller uploads the product with it's details,
the amount it wants to rent it at and the original price. The buyer/renter has to submit the deposit along with
a security deposit initially. In order to solve the security and trust issue, RentAll works as a mediator and
does not release the a part of payment to the seller unless the renter approves that the product is in good quality.
The remaining amount needs to be submitted when the product is returned.
The security deposit will not be returned if product is not in good quality to the renter and is deposited with the seller
as a tax.
Implementing the whole product was challenge because none of use have a background of mobile app development
but we decided to learn something very new in this hackathon.
so we decided to pick react native as stack so that we would be able to make our app accessible to both android
and ios.
first day we spent making the architecture and workflow.
and we get started with react native.
I was pretty difficult for us to setup the project as we had to face lots of errors but when we edn up setting up the project
the zeal to learn new stack make us well ready to implement complete product at end.
It was one of the most learning hackathon for me because before this we never opted for a stack we had never worked on.
This hackthon made us more confident face new challenges with enthusiasm.
Thanks a lot for this great experience
