We examine a new, upcoming generation of vehicles that run on electric power supplied by onboard batteries in a smart city environment. Charging at home and in public areas is the best recharging option. As charging stations are shared resources, Cooperating EVs have the potential to avoid unbalanced use of charging stations and long wait times.
India has seen a significant increase in the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in the past year. Yet the EV owners still face trouble while trying to recharge their vehicles, this is mainly due to the unavailability of nearby EV Charging Stations, or the non-listing of the EV Stations on public platforms like Maps, etc. We have bring
Challenges we ran into
- We needed a user-friendly UI after much brainstorming, we used a Stack Widget with header and a body to make the UI Interactive and easy to use.
- We had to show nearby EV charging station in a range of 30 km. We solved it by using Places API and a model class which gave us a list of objects with required parameters which helped show the markers.
- On tap of the marker, we had to show the details of charging station. We used bottom sheets to show the relevant details like address, distance, status etc.
- We had to show the routes on clicking to show navigation. We achieved this by using Directions API and putting the Station coordinate as destination and current user coordinates as source.
