Paper Tournament Systems for Fishing Tournaments.
Weight Based Fishing Leagues incentivize poor treatment of fish ( such as stuffing the fish with leda to make it heavier )
In Person Tournaments transport big fish of breeding age far distances away from their habitat ( consider the size of the great lakes. A fish could be transferred miles and miles away. ) The transportation of a fish in a Livewell on a boat could be a poor condition for a breeding fish. And then when you consider the mount of time out of water for podium shots at the end of the tournament. It's Unethical.
There is not a fully verified way of proving a fisherman caught and released a fish on the body of water where the tournament is being held.
There is not a unified National Walleye league in the United States. Bassmaster is the biggest national fishing tournament sanctioning body. Walleye does not have the same unified community.
users can submit fish by following the scanning steps. A fisher needs a bump shot, hero shot, and release video for a full submission.
the bump shot is a picture of a fish flat on a bump board which is a ruler for fish.
the hero shot is a selfie with the fish to act as the podium picture.
the release video is a video of the fisher releasing the fish
The Verify tab is tinder for fish. Administrators in a derby can approve or deny fish if they followed the correct process.
We have implemented a Zero Knowledge Proof of Location so that the admins ( and the community ) does not see the fishers' location. The fisher does not want their "fishing spot" to be leaked when they are catching 40 incher after 40 incher.
In the future, we would like to provide this function for all community members to vote on Fish and get an option to save a fish if they like the fish nft.
The Exchange and Rewards tab is a way for the Sanctioning Body ( such as bassmaster ) to reward their fisherman for ethically catching and releasing fish in their tournaments. The sanctioning body rewards an in app currency for every ethically caught fish.
The sanctioning body will issue sport fishing licenses by users paying a monthly subscription ~$2/month.

catch a fish i dare you. FIshing is an untapped market ready for technology to become a standard part of fishing. Many people have a lack of connection with nature nowadays, ethical fish looks to not only rewards fishers for fishing ethically, but in essence, onboard them to nature. Ethical.Fish is for communities, competitions, ethical fishing, fish conservation, body of water research, fish population research, fish ai models, social fish sharing, minting your own fish, winning awesome prizes in competitions, earning for ethically fishing.
Since this is a real project named Derby.Fish, we were actually shopping for a blockchain, not wanting to need to reimplement semthing else after the hackathon or in a few months. Flow is perfect union for sportfishing. The trade off ends up being a good thing because we have more skin in the game with our sponsor implementations.
I don't think I had enough RAM to run the node. Loved the process tho, it was great. I can't wait to work with GAIA's AVSs more. Super Easy Super Fun.

We made an early ZKProof, then moved forward with the rest of the project. At the end of the Day, we don't really need to use a blockchain to implement a ZKProof and Verify system, however, we do see onchain verification of being on the lake a quite valuable resource for the future. It does not fully work, but functions are built and we can see ourselves using zkverify in the future.

We deployed our Flow Smart Contract on Test Net but did not integrate with our react native project. It's a hackathon, lots to do, people to netowrk with, so little time. Network is Net worth. Thank you Flow for Flow Castle, being awesome hosts, and cool people!
Derby.Fish is a web2 sportfishing company. We came in with features to implement. Submission Flow, Review Submissions, and Exchanging Fish for In-app currency. These are not features in our app derby.fish that is live on Google Play and testflight for apple.
We began fresh, no previous code, didn't even look at the code. If anything, we used Derby.Fish for networking and pitching our startup. Ethical.Fish is web3 implementation.
