The problem EthAware solves

EthAware is a powerful solution to the common problem of monitoring and protecting Ethereum nodes. It allows users to effectively monitor and track important metrics related to their Ethereum node(including Geth, Nethermind, Besu,Erigon) , providing them with the data they need to make informed decisions.

EthAware's reliable alerting system generates alert notifications via email, Telegram, or Slack when the node encounters any major problems. This feature helps users to prevent harmful situations and protect their node from damage.

The project is free and open-source, meaning that users can trust that their data is not being shared with any third parties and avial at user end inly. With EthAware, Ethereum node users can ensure the safety and security of their node without sacrificing their privacy.

Challenges I ran into

The first challenge was selecting the most important metrics to monitor the system. This required careful consideration and guidance from my mentor Tanishq to ensure that we were selecting the metrics that were most essential to the system's performance and stability.

The second challenge was configuring the Grafana agent to expose system usage metrics. Despite my best efforts, I encountered several issues during the configuration process. However, I was able to find an alternative solution and used node_exporter (Prometheus) to expose the system usage metrics instead.

With the help of my mentors, the support of the excellent community, and the documentation provided by Grafana and Prometheus, I was able to overcome these challenges and successfully build the monitoring tool for the Nethermind Ethereum node.
