The problem ESPERANZA solves

World Hunger is a disease that is plaguing our society. According to statistics , about 8.9% of the total world population go to bed on an empty stomach each night. Reports also reveal that 14.5% of the Indian Population falls beneath the underfed category .In India about 40% of the food prepared at weddings, events and functions is wasted and thrown away annually.The wasted food if utilized and served properly can act as a great source of relief for those who are deprived of having at least one full meal in a day. Our project ESPERANZA aims to provide food to the needy and hungry. The excessive food which often goes wasted in the parties, events , functions or even home can be collected. Thus our app helps to fulfill the dreams of the needy who can’t sustain their livelihood .
Our app has two portals the DONOR portal and the VOLUNTEER portal. The donor needs to submit his basic information and the location and the estimated number of people that the food can be sufficent. The volunteer who wishes to do the charity can register themselves at the VOLUNTEERS portal and provide their basic information. When a donor aims to donate the food,the volunteer in the nearby location gets the notification and can reach there and collect the food and distribute it to the needy. The volunteer after distributing the food forwards images and video to the donor showing the food being distributed as a token of gratitude and to bring the system of transparency and to make sure that there is food scam. We also aim to collabrate with various NGOs to bring more awareness and eradiacte the problem of hunger. Thus,we all should try our best to contribute towards elimination of hunger which can be well supported by our project “ Esperanza”.
In this fast busy world where people don’t even have time to go out and donate, we have given them an opportunity to do charity right from their home.
