Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

We are participating in Base LatAm because I believe in the transformative power of education and art, especially within the context of Web3. Our project, the Escuela de Arte Nounish, aims to bridge the gap between traditional artistic education and innovative blockchain technology. By leveraging the capabilities of Base, we can provide accessible educational resources and opportunities for talented young artists in Trujillo, Peru. This initiative aligns perfectly with the vision of creating an inclusive, on-chain economy that empowers individuals and communities, making them an integral part of the growing Web3 landscape.
Para la Buildathon hemos creado una plataforma educativa y comercial onchain que conecta a los estudiantes y clientes con herramientas web3, permitiendo la compra de productos físicos que otorguen un NFT al comprador. Este NFT puede funcionar como una membresía o acceso exclusivo a futuras clases, descuentos, y o eventos en nuestra escuela.
Además, contamos con una funcionalidad donde los alumnos artistas puedan crear, mostrar y vender su arte digital en la misma plataforma, directamente en Base. A la vez de poder vendernos esta arte para nuestra merch y obtener comisiones por ventas realizadas en nuestra plataforma.
Esta plataforma se integraría con Basenames y una Smart Wallet, para facilitar el acceso de cualquier usuario al ecosistema web3 sin necesidad de conocimientos técnicos avanzados.

Al graduarse, los alumnos obtienen cetificados soul-bound token.

What challenges are you focusing on?

In our community, we face several challenges:

1. Access to Quality Education: Many young people in Trujillo lack access to quality artistic education and resources, which limits their potential and opportunities in the creative economy. 2. Integration of Web3 Tools: While interest in Web3 is growing, there is a significant gap in understanding how to use these technologies effectively, particularly among aspiring artists and students. 3. Community Engagement: There is a need for a platform that fosters community engagement and collaboration among artists, educators, and the public.

By using Base to create an on-chain educational platform, we address these challenges by providing a structured environment for learning, collaboration, and creative expression. This initiative will empower local talent, fostering a generation of artists who can thrive in both traditional and digital art landscapes.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Our project, the Escuela de Arte Nounish, is designed to create a comprehensive educational and commercial platform on-chain. Here’s how it addresses the identified challenges:

1. Quality Education: The Escuela de Arte Nounish will offer workshops and courses tailored to various age groups, focusing on both traditional art forms and digital art techniques relevant to Web3. By providing 100% scholarships to promising students, we aim to eliminate financial barriers and make quality education accessible to all. 2. Integration of Web3 Tools: The platform will facilitate easy access to Web3 through the integration of Basenames and Smart Wallets, allowing students and artists to engage with the on-chain economy without needing extensive technical knowledge. This feature aims to demystify blockchain technology and encourage its adoption. 3. Community Engagement: Our platform will allow students to showcase and sell their digital art, providing them with real-world experience and exposure. Additionally, the inclusion of NFTs as memberships or access tokens will create a sense of community and belonging among students and patrons, fostering ongoing engagement with the Escuela and the larger Nouns community.

The potential impact of our project is significant, as it not only addresses the educational gap but also empowers the next generation of artists to embrace digital mediums and economic opportunities presented by Web3.

Challenges I ran into

Throughout the development of the Escuela de Arte Nounish, we encountered several challenges:

1. Technical Integration: Integrating the Smart Wallet and Basenames into our platform presented a learning curve. We had to familiarize ourselves with the documentation and best practices for on-chain applications. To overcome this, we organized focused workshops to build our technical capabilities and collaborated with experienced developers from the community for guidance. 2. Community Engagement: Initially, we struggled to engage with potential students and the local community effectively. To address this, we conducted outreach through social media campaigns and local events to raise awareness about our platform and its benefits. This approach significantly increased our visibility and helped us connect with interested participants. 3. Content Creation: Creating compelling educational content that aligns with Web3 principles and artistic practices required extensive research and collaboration with industry experts. We formed a curriculum development team that included experienced artists and educators to ensure our offerings were relevant and impactful.

There's no Coinbase commerce in Shopify, so I have to code. I just need more time to finish that. I didn't know about the build than before

Additional Features

During the Buildathon, we focused on several key enhancements to our platform:

1. NFT Membership System: We implemented a new NFT membership system that grants access to exclusive content, discounts, and events for members, enhancing the user experience and incentivizing engagement. 2. Marketplace for Student Art: We developed a marketplace feature that allows students to showcase and sell their digital art directly through our platform. This feature not only provides practical experience but also allows students to earn from their creations. 3. Community Events Calendar: We added a calendar feature for upcoming events, workshops, and exhibitions, making it easier for students and community members to stay informed and involved.

These enhancements were designed to create a more robust and engaging platform, ultimately fostering a thriving community of artists and learners.
