The problem E-Nyay solves

This is a Decentralized Portal for Courts utilizing Portis and Matic, which allows immutable storage of Evidences along with Real-time video calling facility for court hearings by Live Peer decentralized video streaming protocol.

The project aims to achieve the following:

• No political interference
• Protection of life of witness.
• Saving money of the Concerned parties.
• A step towards Digitalization.

Other Advantages:
• Witnesses related to criminal cases can go to the nearby district or high court where e-court rooms are already in place or to the IT cell of the district magistrate’s office, and the Indian embassy in case of foreign nationals after getting it approved by the judge.
• Civil cases can be handled from home.
• Witness can give their statement from their home/any safe place while the prisoner’s statement can be recorded from the prison.
• A huge amount of money is spent when inmates are transported every year for court hearings. Our project will save millions.
• Protection of a witness is very important but it comes with a huge cost, to protect just one witness for a year
• The police fir and the medical report will be availaible prior to the judges.
• It will prevent the politicisation of any sort of such heinous crimes.

Challenges we ran into

1. Setting up Live Peer and using the streams in the web app.
2. Creating a clean and easy to understand UI
3. Enhancing the ideas to become more real-world solutions to the existing mentioned problems.
