Elune
Earn more, onchain
The problem Elune solves
Elune bridges the gap between traditional finance and DeFi yield opportunities, solving the complexity barrier that prevents everyday users from earning competitive returns on their USDC holdings.
For Crypto-Native Users:
- Simplifies yield generation through auto-compounding SuperUSDC vaults with transparent APY tracking
- Eliminates gas fees through sponsored transactions, making small deposits economically viable
- Provides portfolio monitoring with achievement gamification to encourage consistent saving habits
For Traditional Finance Users:
- Enables direct fiat-to-crypto onboarding from familiar payment platforms (Revolut, Monzo, Wise) without centralized exchanges
- Uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify payments privately and securely
- Offers a user-friendly interface that abstracts away blockchain complexity
Key Benefits:
- Safer: Non-custodial smart wallets ensure users maintain full control of funds
- Easier: One-click deposits, automatic yield optimization, and intuitive portfolio tracking
- Accessible: Gas-free transactions remove the barrier of needing ETH for fees
- Transparent: Real-time earnings tracking and clear fee structures
Challenges I ran into
The most complex challenge was orchestrating the proof generation flow between the ZKP2P browser extension, SDK, and our React application. The extension needs to intercept TLS traffic to generate zero-knowledge proofs of payment, while the SDK manages the verification lifecycle.
The Problem: Race conditions occurred when the extension wasn't ready before payment initiation, causing proof generation failures. Additionally, the coordinating state between the extension's isolated context and the web app's React state management proved difficult.
The Solution: Implemented a custom useExtensionOrchestrator hook that polls for extension availability, manages handshake protocols, and synchronizes proof generation state. Added retry logic with exponential backoff for extension communication and built a fallback UI that guides users through manual extension activation if auto-detection fails.
