Challenges we ran into

π¨ Real-time emergency alert system
We faced issues integrating the SOS button with real-time caregiver notifications. Initially, the alerts were delayed due to API response times. We resolved this by using the Twilio API for faster message delivery and optimizing the request handling process in Node.js. -
π Health data accuracy
Ensuring accurate real-time health tracking was challenging due to inconsistent data from wearable devices. We overcame this by implementing data validation and smoothing algorithms to filter out irregular readings and ensure reliable monitoring. -
π£οΈ Voice assistance implementation
Integrating voice commands for emergency actions and reminders faced compatibility issues on different devices. We fixed this by using the Web Speech API for better cross-platform support and enhancing the system to handle multiple languages. -
π Data privacy and security
Managing sensitive health data while complying with privacy regulations was a major hurdle. We implemented end-to-end encryption using Firebase Authentication and OAuth 2.0 to ensure secure storage and controlled data access. -
π± User accessibility
Elderly users found the interface complex during testing. We redesigned the UI with larger buttons, simplified navigation, and added screen reader support to improve accessibility.
