Modern technology can be overwhelming for senior citizens, often creating barriers to accessing essential services, information, and daily conveniences. Many digital platforms are not designed with accessibility or simplicity in mind, leaving older adults struggling to navigate apps, websites, or smart devices. This can lead to frustration, decreased independence, and even safety concerns, as seniors may avoid using helpful tools or fail to access important resources.

An AI concierge for senior citizens addresses these challenges by providing a user-friendly, supportive digital assistant tailored to their needs. People can use it for tasks such as setting reminders, managing appointments, accessing health information, or communicating with family—without needing to learn complex interfaces. By simplifying interactions and offering personalized assistance, the AI concierge makes everyday tasks easier, safer, and more accessible. It empowers seniors to stay connected, organized, and independent, enhancing their quality of life and peace of mind.

I faced a lot of problems while building solution. One major problem was that sarvam ai does not have speech-to-speech so i had to build a solution which can listen and record the user in snippets and then send it to sarvam for processing. I used VAD to detect if someone is speaking and then use it to record until they are speaking, then these snippets are sent to sarvam STT and then my AI and then I use sarvam TTS to generate the reply.
