EduResume: Verified Credentials Chain
Blockchain-powered credential verification that makes hiring trustless, private, and efficient.
The problem EduResume: Verified Credentials Chain solves
EduResume solves the broken credential verification system in hiring:
Eliminates Credential Fraud: Over 40% of job applicants misrepresent their qualifications. Blockchain-based NFT credentials are verifiable and tamper-proof. Credentials are signed by actual mentors, employers, or institutions.
Reduces Verification Time & Cost: Traditional background checks take 3-4 weeks and cost employers thousands. EduResume provides instant verification through EDU Chain.
Enhances Privacy: Job seekers currently expose all credentials, even irrelevant ones. Zero-Knowledge Proof system lets candidates prove specific skills without revealing unnecessary personal details.
Prevents Hiring Discrimination: Employers see only verified skills, not demographic information that could lead to bias.
Puts Users in Control: Credentials are stored as NFTs owned by the user, not locked in proprietary databases. Users decide who can access their information and when.
Incentivizes Quality Verification: Token-staked verification system ensures serious job inquiries. Rewards honest verification.
Enables Global Credential Recognition: Skills verified on EDU Chain are recognized globally. Eliminates regional translation or verification barriers.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges we ran into:
ZKP Implementation Complexity: Creating Zero-Knowledge Proofs that could verify credentials without revealing details was technically challenging. We solved this by implementing a custom circuit using circom/snarkJS optimized for EDU Chain.
Balancing Privacy with Verifiability: We had to ensure credentials could be verified without compromising privacy. Our solution uses selective disclosure protocols that reveal only what's necessary for verification.
Gas Optimization: Initial smart contract implementations were too expensive for practical use. We refactored our contracts to batch operations and optimize storage, reducing gas costs by 67%.
User Experience Challenges: Making blockchain interactions intuitive for non-technical users required several UI iterations. We developed simplified wallet connection flows and hid complex blockchain operations behind user-friendly interfaces.
Cross-platform Compatibility: Ensuring consistent behavior across different devices and browsers while maintaining EDU Chain compatibility required extensive testing and refinement of our React components.
