The problem EduCreds (formerly educhain) solves

EduChain is a blockchain-based platform transforming how academic certificates are issued, verified, and managed. By minting certificates as NFTs on the Base Network, EduChain ensures they are permanent, fraud-proof, and instantly verifiable worldwide. Institutions gain a secure and efficient way to issue credentials, while employers and third parties can verify them in seconds without intermediaries. With future integrations like decentralized identity (DID), tokenized access ($EDU), and zero-knowledge verification, EduChain is building the next-generation infrastructure for trusted academic records.

Challenges I ran into

building EduCreds has been both exciting and challenging. Along the journey, I faced several obstacles:

Inadequate Resources – Limited funding and resources made it tough to scale development at the pace I envisioned.

Rebranding – I had to rebrand from EduChain to EduCreds after realizing the original name was already taken. This meant redesigning visuals, adjusting communication, and ensuring continuity.

Hardware Limitations – I’m developing on an old Core 2 Duo desktop, which often slows down builds, testing, and running heavier tools. Access to more powerful machines would have made things smoother.

Team Integration Issues – While applying for Onchain Summer on Devfolio, I failed to add my team members before publishing the project. This was a big learning curve in coordinating team submissions on time.

Time Constraints – Balancing deadlines, self-learning, and project building while managing other commitments has been a huge challenge.

Learning Curve – From smart contract deployment on Base to frontend integration, I’ve had to learn many things on the fly, which sometimes slowed progress.
