This is a simple bidding react app that allows the user to place bids on various objects using a custom erc20token as currency
The problem eDeiots Exchange solves
It allows people to do bidding based on a singular currency which increases transparency and honesty among a community. This also prevents free loaders from bidding "fake amount of money" and not pay as everyone's token wallet is available for the public to see.
Challenges we ran into
Being a beginner to programming as a whole, we took most of our time learning the basics and pulling what we had then together to make the bidding project that you see above. The workshop that we had in the morning helped us kickstart and gave us the basic format that we needed to start from.
But we faced difficulties starting from learning how to edit the smart contracts to enable transferring of tokens from one wallet to another. We had to do more research on other sources to learn more regarding it.
We also had to learn react framework as we have never dabbled on it before. which later on resulted in us facing difficulties when we needed to learn how to translate html over to jsx as we made an assumption that html and jsx were the same format.
Learning Remix was a whole new thing for all of us and that taught us on editing and reading our smart contracts although it took another few hours till realisation kicked by. We also had mentors helping us out understanding because we were stuck in between and appreciate their help.
