EcoLink is an innovative platform designed to connect businesses that generate industrial waste with those that can repurpose it as valuable raw materials. The platform addresses three main problems:
Waste Accumulation: By finding new uses for industrial by-products, businesses can reduce waste going to landfills, lowering the volume of waste that negatively impacts the environment.
Environmental Impact: Improper waste disposal often leads to pollution, harming ecosystems and communities. EcoLink promotes sustainable waste utilization, reducing the carbon footprint.
Financial Burden: Waste management is costly for companies. By repurposing waste into raw materials, EcoLink creates new revenue streams, reducing waste disposal costs and improving profitability.
This solution enables a circular economy by making industrial waste exchangeable, helping companies achieve their sustainability goals while saving money.
A few complex problems I faced during this project involved handling asynchronous data loading based on dynamic parameters, like item IDs, which required careful state management to ensure smooth navigation and data consistency across pages. Additionally, optimizing client-side performance when rendering large lists or handling frequent data updates was challenging, requiring techniques like lazy loading and list virtualization to avoid UI lags. Managing user-generated reviews and comments presented issues with scalability and concurrency, necessitating backend setup with efficient data models and real-time updates. Cross-browser and mobile compatibility also posed challenges, requiring responsive design and extensive testing to ensure a consistent experience across different platforms and devices.
