EcoCommute
Ecocommute is a blockchain-powered platform revolutionizing urban transportation.
The problem EcoCommute solves
Ecocommute addresses several critical urban and environmental challenges:
High carbon emissions from transportation: By incentivizing eco-friendly travel options, Ecocommute helps reduce the carbon footprint of daily commutes.
Lack of motivation for sustainable choices: The reward system provides tangible incentives for individuals to choose greener transportation methods.
Inefficient urban mobility: Through smart trip planning, Ecocommute helps optimize routes and encourage the use of public transit and active transportation.
Disconnect between individual actions and environmental impact: The platform provides clear feedback on users' eco-contributions, bridging this gap.
Absence of community in commuting: Ecocommute's social features foster a sense of collective effort in tackling climate change.
Lack of transparency in green initiatives: By using blockchain technology, Ecocommute ensures a transparent and verifiable record of eco-friendly actions and rewards.
Urban congestion: By promoting alternatives to single-occupancy vehicle use, the app helps reduce traffic in cities.
In essence, Ecocommute transforms the daily commute from a source of pollution and stress into an opportunity for positive environmental impact and community building.
Challenges we ran into
Wallet Connection and Functionality Implementation Challenges
During the development of Ecocommute, we encountered a significant hurdle: we were unable to successfully connect a wallet to our project. This issue prevented us from implementing some of the core blockchain functionalities we had initially planned.
The Challenge
- Wallet Integration: We struggled to establish a secure and reliable connection between our application and Ethereum wallets like MetaMask.
- Blockchain Interaction: Without wallet connectivity, we couldn't properly interact with our smart contracts on the Ethereum network.
- Time Constraints: The complexity of blockchain integration, combined with our research needs, put us under significant time pressure.
