The problem Eco App solves

There is a growing concern for carbon emissions caused due to home devices. In the midst of all this users do not have a platform to track and monitor their carbon footprints in real time, with most existing solutions asking users for manual input. Users also do not have an incentive to reduce carbon emissions, which our solution provides.

Challenges we ran into

1. Sync Issues - Since we have a website and an app, we had to make sure that our data stays in sync across both the platforms. For this we developed a central API that is used by both the app and the website.
2. Google Home - Since we faced issues connecting via google home, we settled for WiFi and Bluetooth to fasten our development process.
3. Future Predictions - We considered using machine learning models to predict user's future carbon emission on the basis of the past. We have kept this for future scope and derieved a formula for calculating carbon footprint.
