User Interaction and Data Flow

Account Setup:
Users start by creating an account using their email, GitHub, or social media profiles. This simple process automatically generates a wallet for them, leveraging account abstraction for ease of use. You can also use your perfered browser wallet

Choosing a Subscription Plan:
Once the account is set up, users can choose from flexible subscription plans: monthly or yearly. Payments can be made using either ETH or a USD credit card. For card payments, the process is integrated with Stripe for a familiar and secure transaction experience.

Subscription Activation:
For Credit Card Users: Upon payment, our backend wallet mints the subscription and updates the indexing before securely transferring the subscription ownership to the user's wallet associated with their account.
For ETH Users: Users can pay directly with ETH using their preferred browser extension wallet. The subscription is immediately active post-payment.

Accessing Services:
With an active subscription, users gain access to various token-gated services:

Legal Documents: Fill out and sign legal documents online, with signatures authenticated via the connected wallet.
DBRO DEX: Enjoy zero swap fees on our decentralized exchange.
Entertainment: Access streaming services and more.

Managing Subscriptions:
Users can see & manage their subscriptions directly from the account dashboard. This includes renewing subscriptions, upgrading or downgrading their plans, and accessing receipts & history.

Data Flow:
User information and payment details are securely processed and stored with encryption.
Subscription data, including status and access rights, are managed on the blockchain, ensuring transparency and security.
Interactions between the user’s wallet and the blockchain are encrypted, maintaining privacy and integrity of data.
There is a front runner that monitors tokenId's to check if they have expired, if they have it puts them into a burn pile, and then burns the whole pile.

The project architecture and development process

Solution Overview:
Simplify subscription management by seamlessly integrating blockchain technology with traditional payment systems. Using a stack that includes Hardhat, Wagmi, Reown, account abstraction, Node.js, Tailwind CSS, Vite, React, and a custom Stripe API, we've built a user-friendly platform that appeals to both crypto enthusiasts and newcomers.

Core Functionality:
Easy Subscription Management: Users can pay for their subscriptions monthly or yearly with minimal hassle. The Dapp prevents the common issue of forgotten ongoing subscriptions by making each subscription period clear and manageable.
Automatic Wallet Management: Through account abstraction, users without prior crypto knowledge can easily participate. They only need to sign up using an email, GitHub, or social media account, and our system takes care of the wallet creation and management.
Seamless Payment Integration: Our custom Stripe engine handles all backend payment processing. This includes minting the subscription directly on the blockchain, updating its indexing, and safely depositing it into the buyer's wallet.

Stripe Integration: The Stripe API is customized to perform blockchain transactions. It mints subscriptions after successful credit card payments, ensuring a smooth transition from fiat to crypto.
Account Abstraction for User-Friendly Access: Users sign up and log in using conventional methods (email, social media), making the entry barrier extremely low.
Subscription Access and Expiry: Post-payment, users immediately gain access to their subscribed services. The subscription remains active until it either expires or is manually terminated, at which point users can easily renew.

Development Process:
Started with the frontend, React Vite, added hardhat & the smart contracts, network base, Next we added the stripe API backend code, we used tailwind CSS for the UI/UX, we decided to use Re own to leverage the 0auth for account setup.

Product Integrations

Backend Integration With Stripe API: Which is used for processing USD payments, making it easy to onramp users who are purchasing NFTs that serve as a subscription. The Stripe API is handling the initial fiat transaction and storage of metadata associated with the purchase. After a successful payment, all on-chain & air dropping of the subscription NFT to the buyer wallet address occurs via a second API call to our backend. (This tool can be used for many different applications).

Comparison to Similar Projects
Our dual payment system and use of ERC1155 for subscriptions set us apart, offering greater flexibility and efficiency compared to typical ERC20 or ERC721-based services.

I am thinking about adding a token that will need to be wrapped into the NFT for the subscription service, so when it expires it will be unwrapped & burned, or making the current NFT IDs dynamic they can change, example there is 100 NFT subs two expire they get burned now there is only 98 active. Then if that person renews their subscription it will mint the new NFT now there is 99.

Trade-offs and shortcuts while building

In the interest of meeting our timeline for demonstrations and test network trials, we initially opted to use block.timestamp instead of implementing Gelato's Verifiable Function Result (VFR). This decision allows us to streamline our development process for demo purposes. However, for our production release on the main net, we are committed to integrating Gelato VFR to ensure enhanced accuracy and reliability to ensure top of the line security & to prevent timestamp manipulations from miners.

During the buildathon, we prioritized development speed, which necessitated some compromises in contract security specific to the VFR implementation. We plan to address these aspects thoroughly in the post-buildathon phase. Our team will conduct extensive testing to ensure robust security before officially launching this service under Decentral Bros LLC for production on main net.

As we continue to develop and refine our product, we see vast potential for its application across various use cases. Our ambition is to integrate this subscription management tool across all DBRO platforms, including our DEX, utility site, decentralized web3 tech store, our new mobile app for the DBRO ecosystem and the innovative POS system we are designing. These expansions are aimed at facilitating broader business adoption of cryptocurrency and enhancing our ecosystem's overall utility.
