The problem DRIVEAZY solves
Prevents Accidents: Drowsiness is a major cause of road accidents. Drivers who fall asleep behind the wheel have impaired reaction times and awareness, significantly increasing the risk of collisions.
Increases Driver Safety: By detecting drowsiness early on, the system can alert the driver to pull over and rest, preventing accidents caused by fatigue.
Enhances Alertness: The system's alerts can prompt drivers to become more conscious of their fatigue levels and take proactive measures to stay awake, such as opening a window, playing music, or stopping for a quick nap.
Improves Road Safety: By reducing the number of drowsiness-related accidents, sleeping detection systems contribute to safer roads for all drivers and passengers.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of DrivEazy, we encountered a significant challenge related to the integration of real-time sleep detection algorithms. Initially, we faced issues with the accuracy and responsiveness of the sleep detection system, which impacted the reliability of our solution.
To address this hurdle, we focused on optimizing the algorithms and fine-tuning their parameters to improve accuracy and responsiveness. Additionally, we conducted extensive testing using simulated and real-world scenarios to identify and rectify any inconsistencies or errors.
Through collaborative problem-solving and iterative refinement, we were able to overcome this challenge and enhance the effectiveness of our sleep detection feature. This experience underscored the importance of thorough testing, algorithm optimization, and teamwork in successfully navigating technical hurdles during the project's development.
