Drishyam helps blind people explore the world without always needing someone.
The problem Drishyam solves
Around 15 million people are visually impaired in India. 25% of visually impaired children drop out of school due to lack of support and resources. Vision impairment affects earning potential, reducing income by up to 50% for those affected. Only 5% of visually impaired people can access support like caretakers.
From shopping at the grocery store to exploring new places, we aim to empower visually challenged people to take on the world independently. By transforming their surroundings into a vibrant audio experience, we're not just helping them see with their ears, but also giving them the freedom to live on their terms.
Challenges we ran into
We felt tired during the hackathon because we ate too many pizzas and coke. We had to drink a lot of coffee to combat this sleep problem.
