The problem Draupadi solves

#Overview:

Crime against woman are increasing by the day. There were about 4 lakh cases of crime against women in the year of 2019 which was a 7% hike from the previous year.

#Product:

There is an inherent need for an easy-to-use dashboard outlining cases of crime against woman in real time. More importantly, there is a need for a public platform where information that doesn't reach the authorities is displayed and the voices of the victims are heard loud and clear.
This is where our product "Draupadi" comes in. Draupadi is a realtime information dashboard with a live heatmap of crimes against women. We provide information in a fashion that can be used for viewing cases right next to your street or across the whole nation/state. Apart from this we showcase locations and cases which are most frequent in those locations as well.
Since the data is crowdsourced and the modern women in India face such cases on a daily basis, Draupadi can be used to make everyone aware of the true condition of things and help us not only reflect but also reinforce such locations.
We hope to make a safer and conscious India one report at a time!

Challenges we ran into

1. The map is being created using python hence embedding that into the final website.
2. Running a sequence2sequence NLP model for keyword extraction per report and returning those keywords to the website.
3. Making sure the website is updating in real time as reports are sent in.
