Many a times, parties, weddings, caterers, restaurants, etc. are left with surplus food, with no means to dispose of them other than dumping them in the trash. This food could instead be utilised by hundreds or thousands of people were a means to be provided to do so. Our interface aims at bringing together these two by using NGOs as a middle-man in the food chain network.
Not only would this prevent food wastage by a ton, but also feed the stomachs of many. Our end goal is to make this platform (or other platforms such as this) globally successful so that we can end global hunger and move ahead towards achieving the sustainable goal "No one shall sleep hungry."
The four of us spent a lot of time trying to get on the same page about which problem to choose under the Sustainability umbrella since it is such a wide topic with various real life problems. After a long discussion, and thoughtful exchange of ideas, we all finally settled on the topic of food management as our problem statement. Within the topic DoNation, we had to concise the Scopes and Possibilities we could have gone for while making the project. We were also unsure which track to work upon for quite some time.
Overcoming all the challenges, we present to you DoNation, which we hope would tackle real problem of food poverty,
