The problem dompetku solves
Many small business owners and informal workers still track debts and daily finances manually through notebooks, chat messages or even just memory
Things get forgotten (Who borrowed what? When is it due? It’s easy to lose track)
No proof (Disagreements happen over how much was owed or when it should’ve been paid back) No trust system (It’s hard to know who pays on time and who doesn’t) No financial visibility (Tracking cash flow is confusing and often neglected)
With "Dompetku" you can :
- Record kasbon (small debts) digitally Everything’s saved safely online.
- See your transaction history No more guessing or digging through chats.
- Build a financial reputation which is needed if you want to make debt/use kasbon
- Connect with friends or customers transfer and track transactions with other users easily.
- Feel safer and more in control all your data is organized and accessible anytime.
In short, DompetKu makes dealing with money easier, faster, more transparent,
DompetKu is a simple digital finance app that helps small business owners and individuals manage their daily money matters more clearly and securely.
Challenges I ran into
- Firebase Authentication & Firestore Sync
Integrating Firebase Auth and ensuring it synced well with Firestore was tricky at first. We had to make sure users were securely logged in before pulling or writing any data and this required careful use of useEffect, async/await, and Firestore queries.
How we solved it:
We implemented layered async functions to safely fetch data only when the user is confirmed to be logged in. We also used defensive programming to handle cases when the user logs out mid-session.
- CSS Layout Adjustments
Creating a consistent and responsive layout across all pages, while keeping it visually pleasing, took a lot of tweaking. Especially when positioning the landing page icon without breaking the layout.
How we solved it:
We used flexible layout containers (flexbox) and applied spacing utilities to give a balanced, polished look. Animations and gradients were carefully tuned for performance and clarity.
- Keeping It Beginner-Friendly
One goal was to make the interface super intuitive for users with little or no experience using finance apps.
How we solved it:
We kept navigation simple, used large icons and soft colors, and wrote friendly UI text. We also minimized jargon and structured information clearly.
