The website aims to act as a bridge between small scale manufacturers and startups looking for goods production at a small scale and individual local skilled workers who require access to a reliable employer. The website is a service that enables designers and manufacturers to enter into a contract wherein the manufacturer can place an order of a certain quantity of goods( say 15-20 footballs) and the worker/designer can accept the offer if interested. The website also provides a chat service where our customers can have a one on one interaction which decreases the communication barrier, enabling the worker to negotiate the terms of work and the manufacturer to monitor progress.
We ran into a multitude of problems whilst working on this project. An issue we ran into frequently was linking all the work done by each team mate. But realising the fact that this learning experience will give us a great boost for working in professional environments we moved on. Flask authentication was interesting to deal with, it had great documentation but it turned out we needed a more customised solution so as to link everything up with our MySql database. Writing the code for such applications from scratch was definitely a major annoyance. Since linking front-end files with flask has some workarounds involved, it was having issues with many well made resources we wanted to use (BootStrap, Material css etc.). Due to this we had to write css from scratch, tweaking every minor detail (it appears memes do have some truth). It was a very tedious process but given the time frame, I think we did a fairly decent job. Overall it was an excellent learning experience and a great exploration journey
