The problem DisasterAid solves

Users can access emergency contacts, relief centers, and verified instructions for evacuation or first aid, all in real time. By simplifying communication with volunteers and relief organizations, the app reduces confusion and delays, making disaster response faster, more efficient, and safer for everyone involved.
Challenges I ran into
While developing DisasterAid, I faced challenges in ensuring real-time accuracy of emergency information, integrating multiple sources of verified data, and creating an intuitive interface that works well during high-stress situations. Balancing comprehensive functionality with simplicity was difficult, as users needed quick access to critical resources without being overwhelmed. Additionally, ensuring reliable performance across different devices and network conditions, especially in disaster zones with limited connectivity, required careful design and testing.
