Disaster DAO
Disaster Recovery
The problem Disaster DAO solves
The established methods of handling disaster relief and recovery are ripe for disruption. Natural and man-made disasters happen more frequently and are more severe, Our current systems of relief efforts usually only offer short-term fixes and don't address the long-term economic and individual challenges disaster survivors face. Additionaly, there is also no real way to accurately measure the impact of these unfortunate events on life and property as well as measuring the impact of large scale regional relief efforts. When delivering essential aid for civil disaster relief and civil risk reduction, traditional protocols and methods are often slow, bureaucratic, and limited in scope. Technology isn't used effectively in all three key phases of a disaster (preparedness, response, and recovery). Coordination with goverments community groups and philathopic donors is often poor.
Governments also have strong reasons to buy or hold hypercerts. They fund significant amounts of public-value work — from environmental restoration to digital infrastructure, scientific initiatives, and social programs. Hypercerts give governments a verifiable way to show how public resources were used and what outcomes were achieved. This supports transparency, improves procurement and grant making, strengthens performance-based budgeting, and gives citizens a clearer understanding of government effectiveness. Challenges we ran into
We do not have money to get a public domain.
Use of AI tools and agents
These incentive shifts become even more important as AI transforms fundraising and grantmaking. Today, most projects already use AI to write applications. Soon, most projects will have AI agents handling fundraising, and funders will use AI to filter and select proposals. In this world, every project has to present a convincing narrative. In Web3 convincing written narrative disappears as an advantage in grant applications. What remains meaningful is verifiable data: structured contributions, linked to evidence, and transparent evaluation histories. Hypercerts provide exactly that substrate. The Disaster DAO will advance the use of Hypercerts in the natural and manmade disaster recovery space. This is done though its decentalized governance systems.
