Our project solves a major barrier in international eSports tournaments: high financial fees and long processing times caused by reliance on traditional banking systems.

Today, teams that want to participate in tournaments — especially from Latin America — often face costly transfer fees, currency exchange issues, and delays just to register and pay entry fees.

With our solution built on Base, a fast and low-cost Layer 2 blockchain, we enable:

By combining blockchain with gaming, we unlock access for more players, especially in regions where traditional financial systems are expensive or unreliable. This makes tournaments truly global, inclusive, and efficient — with the potential to scale quickly and fairly.

Challenges I ran into

One of the biggest challenges we faced was designing a registration and payment system that works across borders without relying on banks. Many teams, especially from Latin America, don’t have easy access to international payment methods, and traditional systems charge high fees.

We initially built a local version of the tournament platform, but it was limited to manual bank transfers and local participants.

Another challenge was integrating blockchain payments in a way that feels simple for users who may not be familiar with Web3 tools.

To overcome this, we:

Created an on-chain payment flow using smart contracts.
