De-Vac

De-Vac

“A blockchain based vaccine distribution system to prevent corruption in the medical supply chain.”

The problem De-Vac solves

Our Vaccine industry boasts of many achievements. But reality isn’t so sweet it seems. Recently we came to notice many scams in this sector. From the public not being aware about the availability of life saving vaccines in their nearby hospitals to black market sales of these vaccines. Isn’t this an area that demands transparency? We suggest a public blockchain to store all the vaccine availability data. De-vac is a decentralized App tracking the vaccine distribution, which helps users to locate the nearest hospital having the required vaccines. One can enable their location and find the nearby hospitals and the availability of vaccines there. We are tracking the supply of vaccines from the manufacturers themselves, and making the data transparent using the technology of blockchain, thereby making it near impossible for scams and black markets to thrive.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a few confusions during the idea formation of this project.
The main one being -
Who pays for the transactions?
See, in order to store vaccine supply data on the blockchain, we need to pay gas fees.
Who pays that?
Does the customer have to pay for it?
After a very long thought process, we decided something. The government should take responsibility in making the vaccine supply chain transparent. So the gas fee is to be paid by the government for every transaction we make on this blockchain.

Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies

We are using a public blockchain to store all the vaccine distribution data, making it transparent and immutable.
