Get paid $DEGEN to answer questions

The problem Degenask solves

Degenask is a social Q&A app on Base that lets creators leverage their on-chain social graph to earn $DEGEN for answering questions. It provides smooth UX to consumer with integration of Farcaster authentication as login. Creators can set up their profile in two clicks and share it with their audience. Users pay to ask questions, kind of like a priority message to their favorite creator. They can also earn from answers if others peek at them later. We notify creators on Warpcast when they get a question.

Main features:

  • Ask any creator on Farcaster
  • Ask anonymously
  • Pay what you think is fair
  • Get a refund if your question isn't answered in 2 days
  • Unlock answers by paying 5% of the original price to the asker

Degenask v1 got a great response with over 2.5k transactions on Base and creators earned more than 5k DEGEN. We've taken feedback and improved the UX and added new features for v2. By using Farcaster for distribution and Base for fast, cheap transactions, users can earn real money easily.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some tricky challenges when designing the user flow. We had to make some tough calls on UX tradeoffs, and data recovery was the issue through multiple iterations. To fix this, we ended up deploying proxy contracts to keep the data intact. We also beefed up the UX by adding clear notes and tooltips to keep users well informed. This helped smooth out the rough edges and made the whole experience more user-friendly while solving our backend issues.
