The problem DecentraWiki solves
Centralized information platforms like Wikipedia face challenges in maintaining neutrality, combating bias, and ensuring diverse representation. These platforms often rely on centralized control and editor reputation, hindering transparency and leading to information manipulation.
DecentraWiki is a decentralized community-driven information platform built on Web 3.0 principles to address the limitations of centralized platforms. It aims to provide a transparent, censorship-resistant, and inclusive environment for creating, curating, and verifying information.
Challenges we ran into
Lack Of Faucet : We initially planned to take the project live by hosting our site on azure but since all the faucets had some or the other restrictions we choose to run ganache locally
Gas Fees and Latency : While our initial thoughts were to host the entire data on the blockchain after experimenting some time with the blockchain we realized that the blockchain was not made to store a lot of Data. It can be better as a state management tool and governance protocol rather than as a data store so we choose to be semi-decentralized platform rather than and completely decentralized platform.
