The problem Decentralized Crowdfunding Platform solves
Traditional crowdfunding platforms are centralized, charge high fees, lack transparency, and may delay fund disbursements. BlockFund solves these issues by enabling users to create, fund, and track campaigns directly on the Ethereum blockchain with complete transparency. Smart contracts ensure funds are only released when conditions are met, reducing fraud and ensuring accountability. It empowers both project creators and contributors with trustless, peer-to-peer crowdfunding.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was integrating smart contracts seamlessly with the frontend using viem and wagmi instead of ethers.js. Understanding the nuances of deploying contracts with Remix while maintaining state management on the frontend required deep debugging. Handling wallet connections and maintaining UI responsiveness also posed a challenge. After several iterations, I optimized the logic using hooks and improved performance using React best practices.
