Decentralised Storage Application.
Using IPFS and a local blockchain simulation (Ganache) to demonstrate how files/data can be stored in a de-centralised manner.
The problem Decentralised Storage Application. solves
Centralised storage has some problems that de-centralisation can solve. With something like Dropbox, there's a single point of failure and the security is not as good as what sharding and accountability protocols can acheive.
Imagine a hospital invested a lot of money to collect tumor data for research. Storing such sensitive information on a centralised service can be dangerous as the data is literally now in someone else's hands.
Decentralised storage is a lot more secure, but most importantly, it allows the participation of almost anyone who wants to participate. You can become a miner and make money by renting out storage space. There's incentive for everyone to use this. This is why I love this.
Challenges I ran into
I'm new to programming. So all the problems I faced are skill related. I faced some difficulty while trying to understand the testing of the smart contracts.
