DateNexus
Onchain Dating App
The problem DateNexus solves
Web3 is often criticized for being overly technical and inaccessible. Majority of the existing solutions focus on building complex tools, protocols, and infrastructure, hence, often catering only to developers or crypto-savvy users.
Consequently, there are very few onchain applications truly designed for everyday people.
DateNexus addresses this gap by solving two key problems:
-
The need for genuine connection among like-minded people in tech.
-
The lack of hybrid onchain applications that combine the benefits of fast, secure transactions with a user-friendly experience that doesn't overwhelm non-technical users.
Challenges I ran into
I was stuck in deployment errors for almost two days with a misleading errror of invalid key until i added the chain i was deploying to in my command and it went through.
I found deployment quite challenging because I only watched it in tutorials but now I've seen that the real life experience and deploying on mainnet is an entirely different scenario.
With regards to implementing XMTP, it was difficult figuring out how to link the addresses of signed in users to XMTP messages but adding it to the signin code linked it up and made it easier to implement in the application.
